Laundry Stripping
Used to deep clean whites especially, but also towels and other laundry. You just need a plastic tub or bathtub to fit whatever it is you want to strip. Everyone is always amazed at how grey-brown the water turns from supposedly "clean" laundry. Order the stuff online, since I can't find all of it at stores.
Prep this and future loads by mixing:
48 oz. powder cascade mixed with
3lb. box Oxi-Clean White Revive
Keep this in it's own container.
Now fill tub or some container with HOT HOT HOT water.
Add 1 cup of the above mixture, PLUS:
1 cup of Persil Pro White power pearls
1 cup of vinegar
Add clothes and let sit overnight, or longer, stirring occasionally with big wooden paddle or a broom handle.
Squeeze out as much of the liquid as you can when finished and rinse. I wrench and rinse myself, and then wrench water out again and finish on a rinse cycle in the washing machine with the spin.
Dry in the dryer, or, better, on a line outside.
*If clothes have blood on them, wash that out with cold water first before doing this. Heat sets blood.
