Grandma's Special Ice-cream Dessert

My Grandpa Theda made this and my Aunt Nancy updated it to a 9x13 size so that it could feed our big families! Use a bench scraper to cut since ice-cream is hard!

*Graham cracker crust: (for a deep 9x13 pan)

2 pkgs graham crackers (or Oreos), crushed (about 2 1/2 cups)

12 Tbsp butter, melted (1 1/2 sticks)

Melt the butter in the 9x13 pan and then add in the graham crackers and mix together and then press firmly and evenly on the bottom. Chill 1 hour in freezer before filling, or bake at 375 for 7 minutes.

*3 quarts Desired ice-cream flavor(s) (about 3 quarts). Or you can just do all vanilla.

*Caramel topping, or hot fudge topping. See homemade recipes, or use store-bought.

You will need a metal spoon dipped in water to smooth ice cream.

Let the first flavor ice cream soften enough that you can stir and smooth it, then put scoops of the ice cream on the graham cracker crust and smooth evenly covering the entire crust. Drizzle on the hot fudge or caramel and refreeze immediately at least 1 hour.

Repeat after the first layer has set up adding the next layer/flavor and more hot fudge/caramel. After that layer has frozen, repeat one last time for the third layer. Return to the freezer until ready to serve.
