Valentine's Day Ideas
This snack mix is perfect for kids and teachers.
1 bag Chex mix savory/bold1 box white and milk chocolate covered heart pretzels with sprinkles
1 bad Ghirardelli vanilla or white chocolate melting wafers
1 bag M&M's, Cupid's mix (pinks, red, white)
Mix these up and it's ready!
*Or you can melt the wafers and stir it into the mix using 3 cups plain rice Chex and 2 cups Cheerios instead of the savory/bold mix. Spread on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper or parchment to cool/harden. Transfer to bowl and mix in the chocolate covered hearts last.
**Other ideas for Valentine's Day is to make heart shaped sugar cookies with conversation heart messages written on them. Or a flower cookie bouquet.
Or just make regular chocolate chip cookies using the Cupid's mix M&Ms..
Or use the Ghirardelli melting wafers in chocolate and white chocolate to make chocolate dipped strawberries. If you buy a cute box for them in the cake decorating section of the store, and package them nicely you'll have a super star gift for a friend, teacher, or loved one.
*** A candlelight dinner is fun, even if it is just with all the kids. Gives them a chance to practice good manners!
Our favorite desserts are puddings, tiramisu (my alcohol/coffee free version) chocolate mousse (from my chocolate cream pie recipe), a chocolate cake, or a strawberry trifle.
