Punch for a Crowd with Sherbet (Sorbet) ice-cream
I used to see this drink a lot at church parties, firesides, wedding, and showers. Good memories!
Easy fast version: (perfect for kid's birthday party). For Leia's 12th birthday the girls at her party loved this drink with their homemade pizzas and vegetable tray! Only two ingredients:
-2 liter bottle of Sierra Mist or Sprite or 7-up or other Lemon-Lime soda, cold
-32oz container of orange sherbet ice-cream
Fill punch bowl. Then use a cookie scoop to drop balls of sherbet into the soda. It will start fizzing and mixing. Give it a stir and serve with a ladle into cups.
Optional: Add 2 cups of fresh orange juice. Adjust flavors if you want a pink sherbet with strawberry or raspberry sherbet. If you at a hot time of year, add some ice to the drink to keep it cold.
Big Party Version:
2 Liter bottle Sierra Mist, Sprite, 7-up, or other Lemon-Lime soda, cold
2 Liter bottle Club Soda, cold (the fizz with no flavor)
juice from two limes, freshly squeezed
1 frozen can (12oz) of limeade, fruit punch or pink lemonade thawed in fridge
1 frozen can (12 oz) of lemonade, pineapple juice or pink lemonade, thawed in fridge
32 oz container of raspberry sherbet ice-cream, use cookie scoop to drop into the drink
1/2 bag of ice or so depending on how hot it is
Add all the sodas and juices and stir until dissolved. Then drop in the balls of ice-cream with a cookie scoop or spoon. Garnish with frozen raspberries and pineapple slices if desired. (for Kathryne's wedding, we did limeade, lemonade, and pineapple sherbet with the other ingredients because that's all they had at the store, and it tasted amazing! Turned out a white frothy color. But you could make it green as pictured with lime sherbet, or orange, or pink. Just don't mix colors or you get brown.
