Six Sister's Stuff has all the best Jello recipes. This is one of their most popular, Strawberry Jello Fluff. It is a combination of a pudding mix, Jello packet, strawberries bananas marshmallows and whipped cream. Everyone loves it! (I'm a weirdo who would rather substitute cottage cheese or more fruit for the marshmallows).
Strawberry Jello Fluff Salad (10-12 servings)
1 large box (4.6oz) Cook and Serve Vanilla pudding mix
1 large box (6oz) Strawberry Jello
3 c. water
16oz container of Cool Whip (or homemade whipped cream)
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
2-3 bananas, sliced
1/2 pkg (5 oz) of mini marshmallows
In a medium saucepan, whisk together pudding mix, Jello mix, and water. Bring to a boil whisking now and then. Once it boils, turn off heat and pour into a large serving bowl, covered with plastic and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
Once mixture has thickened, beat with a hand mixer until creamy and smooth. (This will not turn white, but the jello will have a smooth texture).
Fold in Cool Whip, marshmallows, and fruit until thoroughly Incorporated and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
*For best results make this jello salad the night before or the morning of your event. If you make it too much ahead of time, the fruit juices can start to make it get runny.
** If you don't need to feed quite so many people, you can use the smaller boxes of pudding and Jello and half all the other ingredients.
5 Minute Orange Jello Salad
Mix 1 small package of orange jello (just the powder) with an 8oz container of Cool Whip. Drain a can of pineapple tidbits and Mandarin oranges well. Stir fruit into Jello mixture along with half a bag of marshmallows and a small container of cottage cheese(if desired). Serve immediately or best if refrigerated 1-2 hours before serving.
------
Pat loves lime jello with pears and a layer of whip cream on top. His dad would always make orange jello with canned mandarin oranges and cream cheese bits. Also make jello mixed with ice-cream or whipped cream. (I know jello is awful and I have not raised my kids with it, but now that we have so many to feed all the time, it's sometimes the perfect sweet treat, that's also cheap and delicious).
