Ramen Soup kicked up a notch

I can't stop my kids love of ramen soup. I know ramen isn't healthy for you, but we like it, so I try to spruce it up a bit. The kids want to eat it all the time, especially in winter. (In the summer I don't let them have it, and in the winter, just once a week.) Last night I added some green onion and an egg- that's all I had- and just that looked so much better than plain ramen!  You can add steak, shrimp, etc. Or try adding cilantro, basil, finely shredded carrot, or any other vegetables like Stir-fryed peppers, onions, broccoli , mushrooms, etc. Add to your hot broth when ramen is ready. Or you can make your own broth.

I asked Dr. Redd what to do instead of adding bouillon to flavor soups since it's all MSG badness. He said to just simmer a bit of meat in water all day with some salt. Instant broth!  He said in the mornings he fills his thermos with boiling water and then adds the vegetables and finely sliced raw meat, then closes it up, and by lunch it's all cooked, and very delicious.  *He would never recommend ramen both for the msg and the gluten/carb noodles.
