Peanut Butter Cookies- from Mel's Kitchen Cafe



I don't like peanut butter cookies so much, but these are good. Alternate way of decorating them is to leave off the criss-cross pattern and just press an unwrapped Hershey's kiss into the center of each cookie when they're fresh out of the oven. This is a half recipe that makes about 18. Feel free to double it!

1/2 c. butter
1 c. peanut butter (use Jif or Skippy or a soft spreadable natural peanut butter)
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. white sugar


1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla


1 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda

Mix and put on baking sheet. Press crisscross pattern by dipping a fork into flour repeatedly so it doesn't stick. Bake 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Do not over bake.
