Rice Krispy Treats (Easter nests)
For nests: Use a buttered bowl to shape into a nest shape. Once it's solidified enough, you can remove it and put cute candy eggs in the middle and wrap in plastic to give as a gift, or to put in an Easter basket.
Rice Krispies recipe:
(I often double this recipe for our big family)
6 Tbsp butter
4 cups mini marshmallows
6 cups rice krispies
Melt butter in large saucepan. Add marshmallows and stir constantly until they are melted. Remove from heat. Stir in cereal until well coated.
Pour out mixture into a buttered 9x13 pan, and smooth top flat using buttered hands. Let cool. Cut into squares and keep covered, if you have any left!
*You can add in mini M&M's and many other things! I have also substituted popcorn for the cereal to make popcorn balls. My friend covers the 9x13 pan of rice krispy treats with a layer of homemade caramel, and then chocolate. Once it cools, it's like eating a homemade Twix bar. Some people stir peanut butter into the mixture. There are so many variations.
