Brother Thomson's Smoky Chicken Marinade for BBQ

This was our Sacramento State Institute director Brother Thomson's famous recipe. He was the Greatest and Best of Men. I will bless his name forever. I spent hours learning with him. He always made this recipe at the end of each year for us. It makes the meat tender, smoky, and flavorful! (Serve with or without BBQ sauce on the side- it doesn't need it).

Marinate 2-3 fryers, or 6-8 chicken breasts for 24 hours before barbecuing.

1 c. olive oil
1/4 c. wine vinegar
1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. salt or a bit less
1/4 c. dry mustard
2 Tbsp Wrights Liquid Smoke
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbsp black pepper
1 large onion chopped

Make sure chicken is covered in marinade or that you turn it every few hours. I made tons of this for the party at our house for my mission farewell and my Uncle Bob barbecued them up, getting a nice char on the edges. Everyone loved it!

Serve with all your favorite picnic/BBQ food!
