Ben and Jerry's Sweet Cream Ice-Cream
This basically tastes like vanilla ice-cream, but better! The best homemade vanilla ice-cream ever and it doesn't even have vanilla in it. Just sweet cream, and it's amazing! This can be a base to mix in any other flavors as well. We love this best fresh and soft. Put whatever is left in the freezer immediately! And of course this goes great over peach pie or a chocolate brownie if you feel so inclined.
I've never tried freezing this into a mold to make an ice-cream cake like at Baskin Robbins, but you could easily pour the ice-cream into a pie crust for ice-cream pie. Try melting a candy cane into the milk and then refrigerating until cold again, and then making the ice-cream. Additionally, you can stir in any mix-ins you like.
2 c. heavy whipping cream
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. milk
2 eggs
Whisk the eggs in a mxing bowl until light and fluffy, 1 to 2 minutes.
Whisk in the sugar, a little at a time, then continue whisking until completely blended, about 1 minute more.
Pour in the cream and milk and whisk to blend.
Use for sweet cream base for any ice cream recipe.
Makes 1 quart of base.
