Cooked Cabbage (and stuffed cabbage rolls)


Honestly, sometimes I just cut a head of cabbage up into wedges and serve it raw with dinner and the kids really like it. We prefer that.

However, to make cooked cabbage, you can just slice it into big wedges and boil it for about 10-15 minutes. Pour off liquid and top it with butter, salt, and vinegar like my mom did. 

Cabbage is so cheap that we would always add it to huge stews growing up. It cooks down a ton.

But you can also make a filling, roll it up in the leaves and steam. Stuffed cabbage is delicious! Recipes abound online- haven't found my favorite yet.
